QUICK GUIDE

  • Welcome and Engage - CONNECT: 10 - 15 min

CONNECTION: Connect relationally with your group members. It provides people a chance to be fully present with the group. When you connect relationally you connect relationally with your group members

    Icebreakers/ Introductions

Personal/Group Check-In: This is an opportunity for you to ask attendees how they are doing. Possible questions include:

How was your week? Did anything exciting happen?

How are you feeling about faith? Are you currently energized or drained?

What has been the hardest thing you’ve walked through this week?

What were the highs and lows/wows and pows?

Watch Video - LEARN: 30 Min

This is what the build of the meeting will be about. This is where you will play the video recording for all of your attendees to watch a pre-recorded worship sessions and teaching that will dig deeper into a topic of choice

Have Discussion - APPLY: 45 Min

How can you challenge your attendees to apply what they have learned? Application: is discussing how to apply what was covered during your group time and how God may be at work in other areas of a group member’s life. This is where you will discuss the provided questions on the website

Pray - Prayer is an opportunity to pray for one another individually. Not everyone has to share, but we ask that you try to keep requests focused on personal needs and/or content from the session (not open-ended). This creates intentionality around the requests and ensures that the group stays focused on building community.

  • Please ensure that your space is clean and comfortable for guests

    Do you have pets?

If you have pets please ensure that your pets are secure to avoid distractions

Prepare a Space for Kids: What should we do?

We encourage you to include kids into your time as much as possible. This will depend upon your space availability and the ages of the kids. We have created activity packets for preschool & elementary-aged kids that will be provided to registered home church hosts. If you did not receive activity packets, paper & crayons/markers can keep kids both engaged and quiet while you watch & talk. The lesson is intended to be for a wide audience of both spiritual maturity and ages.

What time should we start? Do we have to do the service times?

You can start at whatever time works for your group; you don’t have to follow service times. The video is set up to start whenever you need. We do suggest that you meet Sunday morning if possible to help us all stay in a Sunday morning worship habit.

    Can I invite my neighbors/family/coworkers/etc?

Absolutely! Invite anyone who you want to foster a relationship with so you can point them to Jesus!

What is the best size of a home church?

The size really depends upon your space. We would recommend you don’t go too much over 12 or 14 people, as it starts to make the discussion difficult to navigate.

Am I required to Provide Food?

You are not required to provide food. However, it may be good to provide light refreshments.
