As we step into Dangerous Prayers, we’re setting aside seven days to seek God together — aligning our hearts, renewing our faith, and positioning ourselves for what God wants to do in us and through us.

From January 10–16, our church will gather daily for 7 Days of Prayer and Fasting, creating intentional space to listen, respond, and surrender to God’s voice. Throughout the week, we’ll come together in prayer, both in person at our South location and steamed live online for our global community, as we pursue God with expectation Each day will be centered around a specific prayer focus and scripture, guiding us to reflect, repent, and respond to what God is revealing in this season. These are not safe prayers. They are honest prayers. Bold prayers. Prayers that invite God to search us, shape us, and send us.

This fast isn’t about restriction — it’s about realignment. Whether you’re fasting from food, social media, or something else that has been competing for your attention, the purpose is the same: to create space for God to speak clearly and lead fully.

We believe this week will mark a turning point — where faith is strengthened, obedience is renewed, and our church is unified around God’s presence and purpose. As we begin this year, we’re choosing to seek first. To pray boldly. To trust God completely.

We invite you to join us for Dangerous Prayers: 7 Days of Prayer and Fasting, January 10–16.

Overview

How To Begin

  • Pray and ask God what this fast should look like for you personally.

  • Commit to participating in the Daniel Fast for January 10–16 at a pace that is healthy and sustainable.

  • Set your intention to join daily prayer, either in person at South Campus or online.

  • Prepare your heart to listen, respond, and be led throughout the week.

  • Decide in advance how you will participate in the social media consecration from 6 PM–6 AM.

Preparation

  • Plan your meals ahead of time to support the Daniel Fast.

  • Remove distractions that may compete with prayer, especially during evening hours.

  • Create space in your schedule for prayer, reflection, and rest.

  • Let your family or close community know about your commitment so they can support you.

  • Come with an open heart, ready to be challenged, encouraged, and changed.

Fast Types

  • A 6AM–6PM fast is a type of sun-up to sun-down fast. During this time, we abstain from food and certain comforts as a way of focusing our hearts and attention on God.

From 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, participants refrain from eating solid foods and instead commit that time to prayer, worship, and reflection. Many choose to drink only water, tea, or light juices during the fasting hours.

At 6:00 PM, the fast is broken for the evening meal. Some people choose to eat one modest meal after 6PM, while others continue with lighter options as they feel led.

This rhythm mirrors the biblical principle of setting apart the day for spiritual focus — offering the first and best of our time to the Lord, and closing the day in gratitude.

The purpose isn’t deprivation — it’s devotion. We fast to remove distractions, quiet our hearts, and make more room for God’s presence and direction in our lives.

  • Based on the fasting experience of Old Testament Prophet Daniel (Daniel 1 and 10), The Daniel Fast is a Partial Fast that allows whole grains, fruits, beans, legumes, and vegetables. While eliminating meats, seafood, dairy, eggs, sugar, and sweeteners, leavened bread, coffee, and soda. Moderate portion sizes are encouraged. We will be corporately participating in this type of fast.
