Family Life Director Job Description

The Family Life Director is a high-capacity leader who is responsible for empowering, equipping, and leading individuals and teams, while providing pastoral care and strategic direction to families and couples at The Life Church (TLC). This role will be a key driver in the development and execution of ministry initiatives designed to strengthen family and marriage life, equipping parents to raise children in a Christ-centered home. The Family Life Director will work closely with other ministry leaders under the guidance of the Director of Ministries. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and a passion for building dynamic, life-changing environments for families.


Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Richmond, Virginia area to fulfill the responsibilities of this role effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pastoral Leadership for Families and Couples: Provide care, guidance, and support to families, focusing on marriage enrichment and parenting.

  • Next-Generation Leadership: Oversee Next-Generation Leaders, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and strategies.

  • Marriage and Family Enrichment: Design and execute programs, retreats, and workshops to build healthy marriages and equip parents in their spiritual journey.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead a comprehensive family life strategy, creating programs that guide families toward spiritual maturity.

  • Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with ministry departments and Campus Pastors to support family relationships through events and programs.

  • Volunteer Development: Recruit and lead volunteers who support family-related events and classes.

  • Technology and Innovation: Leverage digital tools to enhance engagement and expand the reach of family ministry.

Qualifications:

  • Committed follower of Christ and active church participant.

  • Proven leadership and team-building experience.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • 3-5 years of experience in ministry or event planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

  • Applicants must reside in the Richmond, Virginia area or be willing to relocate to fulfill the responsibilities of this role effectively.
