Director of Ministries

The Director of Ministries is a high-capacity leader responsible for empowering, equipping, and developing teams while providing strategic leadership across the church’s ministries. Under the guidance of the Lead Pastor, this role ensures the vision, values, culture, and systems of The Life Church (TLC) are upheld effectively, both in the leadership and execution of the church’s ministry operations. The Director of Ministries will provide pastoral leadership to the congregation, oversee departmental functions, and offer strategic counsel to the Lead Pastor. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with proven experience in team management, system implementation, and driving ministry initiatives. The Director will also be a key player in fostering a unified, high-performing church culture. 

Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Richmond, Virginia area to fulfill the responsibilities of this role effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ministry Oversight and Strategy: Lead and develop all front-facing ministries, ensuring alignment with the church’s vision and community needs.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the ministry department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and financial stewardship.

  • Pastoral Leadership and Congregational Care: Provide care and support to members, guiding them through spiritual development and key decisions such as baptisms.

  • Discipleship and Spiritual Growth: Implement programs that promote spiritual maturity across all campuses, ensuring effective discipleship pathways.

  • Technology and Innovation: Utilize digital tools to expand the church’s reach and improve online discipleship.

  • Team Development and Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers, fostering a culture of teamwork and leadership growth.

  • Ministry Coordination and Program Implementation: Ensure consistent execution of programs across campuses, including events and special initiatives.

  • Strategic Planning and Vision Casting: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to implement the church’s long-term vision and ministry growth plans.

  • Congregational Engagement: Foster an inviting environment, helping new members connect and grow through small groups, volunteering, and events.

  • Event Management and Execution: Oversee church events, ensuring they align with TLC’s mission and vision.

Qualifications:

  • Committed follower of Christ and active church participant.

  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and ministries.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • 3-5 years of experience in ministry or event planning.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred). 

  • Applicants must reside in the Richmond, Virginia area or be willing to relocate to fulfill the responsibilities of this role effectively.
